2018: A YEAR IN REVIEW
The year 2018 was another busy year for the Borough of Alburtis Police Department. The police department issued 705 traffic citations during the course of the year while responding to 1,485 service calls. The department arrested 22 individuals and issued 41 parking tickets in 2018.
The department saw the addition of Officer Daniel Wiedemann (part-time). Officer Broc Termini was hired full time in December 2018 to fill the position left vacant when Officer Cory Fluck left December 31, 2017.
The contract between the Alburtis Police Officers' Association and the Borough of Alburtis was finally settled in arbitration in June 2018. Negotiations began in June 2017 and with neither party able to compromise on a contract, the contract went to arbitration in October 2017.
The police department conducted a Hawaiian Luau and the National Night Out Event at the Alburtis Area Community Center's Pool as part of their continued summer Crime Prevention Program. For safety the police department distributed over 650 glowsticks to students at the Alburtis Elementary School and various trick-or-treaters for Halloween.
The Borough of Alburtis Police Department looks forward to serving the community in 2019 and hopes everyone has a safe and healthy year.

11th ANNUAL NATIONAL NIGHT OUT EVENT
On Tuesday August 7, 2018, the 11th Annual National Night Out Event was scheduled. Unfortunately, due to severe thunderstorms the event had to be postponed until Thursday August 9, 2018. Even though the event was postponed we had a fantastic turnout and everyone had a great time. Hot Dogs were provided by Hatfield Quality Meats and Bootleg Express provided live music throughout the event. A magician put on a show for kids and adults and we had face painting. A raffle was held to help off set the cost of the event and we brought in several items for the local food bank. We would like to thank everyone that assisted in running the event and the community for their support. Please reserve Tuesday August 6, 2019 for our 12th National Night Out Event as we hope to see EVERYONE there.

Ken Osmond (the actor who played Eddie Haskell in Leave it the Beaver) became a Los Angeles Police Officer after the show ended. He ended up being shot in the line of duty and survived because of his bullet proof vest. He is now retired.
