On Tuesday August 3, 2021 from 12pm to 9pm, the Alburtis Police Department held its 14th Annual National Night Out Event at the Alburtis Area Community Center's Pool. For the first time this event was an all-day event with free admission featuring Joel's Dunk Tank Tour from 99.9 The Hawk from 6pm to 7pm, Rustix Classic Rock Band (with Chief Robert Palmer on Bass Guitar) from 6pm to 8:30pm, an inflatable obstacle course, dunk tank, free hot dogs, and a cannon ball contest held at 5pm. Various organizations had displays and raffles including the AACC Pool Staff, Alburtis Elementary School PTO, AACC Dance Connection, Lower Macungie Fire Department's Ladies Auxiliary, Alburtis Police Department, Cub Scout Pack 431, and Community Fire Company of Seisholtzville. As the sun set on the event, the Lower Macungie Fire Department once again provided lighting at the pool. We would like to thank everyone that helped with the event and thank all those that attended. A special shout out to Pool Director Dan Huff and the entire pool staff (lifeguards and concession stand staff) for their hard work and dedication!!!!
Ken Osmond (the actor who played Eddie Haskell in Leave it the Beaver) became a Los Angeles Police Officer after the show ended. He ended up being shot in the line of duty and survived because of his bullet proof vest. He is now retired.
